Windows Vista and Windows 7 users may feel be bothered by their User Account Control (UAC). This also makes ArcGIS user hardly add their extension through Tools > Customize interface. The following windows appears when users are trying to load, for example, DLL type extensions.
‘No new objects added’ error message means that users fail to load their extension. One of the solution is running ArcMap in Adminsitrator mode when we are going to add any extensions such follow.
- Find ArcMap icon, whether on desktop or in START.
- Right Click on ArcMap icon.
- Select ‘Run As Administrator’
- ArcMap will run as normally, however in this time in Adminstrator mode.
- Add any extension, for example DLL type, via Tools > Customize menu as normally.
