Adding coordinate information on our map is a must. That can be done by adding GRID of Latlon or UTM. The GRID contains coordinate information of our map/layout. In ArcGIS 10, the default GRID function is not really flexible while we can not customize the label of our GRID. However, STYLE in ArcGIS 10 provides a very useful function to make a customized GRID. This post is discussing how to create our own GRID for layout in ArcGIS 10.
1. Open Arcmap
2. Defining Aera of interest (AOI). This is an area in which we are often creating maps. For example it may covers an area of a province or a district. Even they are in same region, we need to define each zooming level as one AOI and then one customized grid.
