Uploading basemap into GPS devices has been one of main features of GPS-PC connection that hardly be done by ordinary people. Some company has been commercialized this as their paid service at arround $10 – $30. For South Kalimantan Province, I have created a basemap for Garmin GPS. It covers only South Kalimantan Province of Indonesia. You can download this for free.
This base map has characteristics as follow:
- Map is created by CGPSMapper
- IMG is compiled by GPSMapEdit version 1.0.22.1
- Data Topography added from Indonesian Topographic Map scale 1:50.000 consists of road, river, and urban area.
- Forest Area (Can not be used as legal reference, just as an overview)
- Has three levels of zooming for better display/navigation

You can upload the basemap into your Garmin GPS Receiver by these two options:
- Connect your Garmin into your PC with USB Mass Storage interface. Backup gmapsupp.img in GPS. Copy and paste the file downloaded and rename into gmapsupp.img
- Upload the img file with SendMap. Download SendMap.
The usage of this Basemap under the following conditions:
- The basemap is provided as it is
- I don’t guarantee any physical damage or data lost in your Garmin GPS Receiver
- Data in the Basemap can not be used as legal reference. I don’t guarantee that the map contains correct/valid data.

For Magellan user, you can ask me by put a comment if you want a Basemap. I have created one for Magellan GPS. However, due to its less popularity compare to Garmin GPS, I did not post it yet.
